We have just spent a delightful week at the Melia Resort in Cozumel. We received great attention from all areas of staff and would particularly like to recommend our Concierge at The Level - Geraldo. He has provided welcome information regarding hotel services, weather forecasts and sea currents and has responded with enthusiasm to all our questions. He fixed our remote on the TV, made sure our room booking was to our satisfaction and made a point of checking in with us regularly to make sure we were happy. He made our dinner reservations and went the extra mile in making our holiday special. We appreciated the lovely breakfasts in the Fish House and the services of Martin and Adrian. As well as Francisco in the Mole Mexican Restaurant. The Melia provides a wonderful relaxing escape from the northern winter wonderland.

We stayed at Melia Cozumel for a week as a family of four with two kids and had a truly wonderful experience. The room was very comfortable, the beds were great, and housekeeping was consistently excellent. There were so many fun activities for both kids and adults. The nightly mini disco was enjoyed by our whole family. The staff throughout the resort was extremely courteous and welcoming. The food was very good, with a solid buffet and three enjoyable restaurants. The kids pool area is fantastic, the private beach is beautifully maintained, and the overall seating and layout across the property is very well managed. A special thank you to Enrique, who works in the kids area, pool activities, and nightly entertainment. He was amazing with guests of all ages. Our kids loved spending time with him in the kids area and were so proud of the artwork they created with him. His water aerobics were fun and energetic, and his yoga and stretching sessions were very relaxing. He truly made our stay extra special. Thank you Melia Cozumel for a fun, relaxing, and memorable family vacation.

Very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Food was great and had the option of sitdown resturant or buffet. There was also plenty of enrertianment at night such as dance shows and Karaoke. The pool and beach area had a lot of space to relax and socialize. Alfonso was very helpful and made sure our stay was an enjoyable one. He made sure we felt right at home each night of our stay. Every employee went out of their way to make our stay the best possible. Would definetly go back in the near future.

Overall, the hotel is nice and pleasant. The location is not the best on the island, but it is still acceptable and does not significantly affect the stay. The hotel staff is absolutely amazing and does an outstanding job in all areas - from the front desk, to the dining areas, housekeeping, and overall service. Everyone was kind, attentive, and truly made an effort to ensure a great experience. A special mention goes to the entertainment team, who really elevated the atmosphere and overall experience. In particular, Jose Animiador deserves exceptional praise - his attitude, energy, and genuine care toward guests were truly impressive and made a big difference. The activities he led were fantastic, and my wife, our children, and I truly enjoyed every moment. Regarding the food: • Breakfast was average, with a somewhat limited variety. Adding more fresh vegetables and a selection of different fish could significantly improve it. • The Mexican beach bar is very nice, offering good food, excellent service, and a beautiful ocean view. • The seafood restaurant was outstanding - high-quality, fresh, and delicious food. The beach: While access to the sea from the beach is very convenient, the sea conditions in front of the hotel were not very good during our stay. I understand this is not the hotel’s fault, but it does affect the overall experience. Fortunately, the sea beyond the pier is completely different, and we had an amazing time snorkeling there. Overall, we had a very good experience and left with a great feeling. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back.

Everything so far has been excellent. As for food delivered to the room, there aren’t many options. The pizzas are not good and would greatly improve with real mozzarella. The rest of the menu is acceptable. I like Modelo beer; they have a deal with Tecate, so that’s all that’s available. The staff are wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always helpful, which really enhances the overall experience. The service is great, but the food selection and quality, especially the pizza, need improvement. Sorry I know I am in Mexico, but little things can change the taste of a dish for better.

Overall I would sure come back, but there is room for improvement. This hotel is smaller in size. everything is compact, easy to reach/find and you will not get lost as in some huge resorts. We stayed for 4 nights In Feb 2026 in the main building on 8th floor and all rooms facing the beach/ocean. Room overall was great, no issues there. Large, clean, good pillows, mattress a bit on a hard side. A/C worked but we had balcony door open for 4 days and did not use A/C at all. Food was simple, we have not been left hungry but the selection is limited and the chef leaves a lot to be desired. too many things are overcooked, or too greasy. Servers are good and attentive. Breakfast is about the same every day. Dinner is rotated and offer different cusine every night (we stayed 4nights). Itlaian and Mexican nights were good. Asian was not good. The Seafood house restaraunt was good, but I can't say it was much better over buffet. On a good day beach is excellent, except the swim area is limited in size. Beach is good/safe for kids. We walked over towards the hotels to the left and swam past the pier. Water is cleaner on that side too. When winds/swell come from north or North east the water will get cloudier. Debrie from mangoroves get blown down from the north side of the island. Water stay clean and blue behind the pier in a nearby hotel. But for best snorkeling on the island you'd have to drive any way. Occasionally there is a strong smell of sewer odor on the outside. Can not trace where it came from, was not from the water, probably from septic system vents. One day it was bad enough to where we had to close the balcony door on 8th floor. Spent morst of that day outside of the hotel. However that smell is noticable in many areas of the island, so I'm not going to put that against this hotel. Water is delivered daily in big trucks, so I assume there is no central water or sewer in this side of town.

We enjoyed our stay here at the Melia. The staff was the shining jewel of the hotel. They made sure we were comfortable at all times and took care of us with a smile. Oscar who was our guide for the stay was diligent in making sure my entire family was comfortable during the stay, including even answering our questions and setting up necessities on his DAY OFF! The food and activities were all above and beyond. There was so much to do we ended up not able to get to all of it, which gives us something to look forward to when we return! Also major shout out to Don Diego on the beach who was nothing short of a miracle worker at all times, making sure me, my wife, and two toddler boys were happy and taken care of throughout our stay on the beach. Thanks again Melia I would not hesitate to return!
